Method 1: Aadhar Card Address Change/Correction Online

  • Open UIDAI’s official website

Method 2: Aadhar Card Address Change/Correction Offline (By Post)

  • Open the official website of UIDAI at http://www.uidai.gov.in
  • Choose “Update Request by Post” under “Aadhaar Update Services”.
  • Download the aadhaar update/ correction shape with the intention to open in a separate window in pdf shape.
  • Take the print out of the form and start filling the Update Request Form in bold letters. Remember to fill the form in both English and local language.
  • Mention your registered Aadharcard mobile number in the form.
  • Remember to fill in the form mentioning only your current details. If you want to change or update your address, then write only your new address, and not the old one.
  • Do not use short form while writing your address or it may lead to further confusion. You will receive the Aadhar letter in the same address which you will mention. So, make sure to write it correctly.
  • Though it is not compulsory, still if you want to include your Parent/ Spouse/ guardian name in your address, then select the suitable box in c/o details and enter the person’s name under it.
  • Even if you only want to update your c/o details, you will still have to fill your complete address and submit supporting POA (Proof of Address) along with it.
  • It is not necessary to submit all proof of documents mentioned in POA (Proof of Address). It requires anyone Of the listed POA documents.
  • In the case of a child who is below 5 years of age, his parent/ guardian are free to sign the document copies on behalf of them.

  • From the UIDAI portal find an Enrollment center nearest to you.

The form requires details, such as name, date of birth, address, parentage, etc. You must also fill out the correct email address and mobile phone number. This will make receiving updates or make corrections easier later on.
  • Keep the proof of identification and address proof documents ready before visiting the center. There is 18 proof of identity documents that are acceptable at the center. Similarly, there is 33 proof of address documents you could choose from to submit, in an original.
  • If you are unable to download the form online, you can always visit the enrollment center and manually fill up the form there. However filling it beforehand will save time later on.
  • The enrollment process also includes biometric scanning, such as iris scanning, finger scanning and also clicking on a photograph. This is all done at the respected enrollment center.
  • After completion of the process at the enrollment center, an enrollment slip will be issued to you. The Aadhar Card Enrolment Slip includes your enrollment number along with date and time.
  • The verification process is roughly 60-90 days. Once the data is found to be correct, an SMS, as well as a printed Aadhar card, is sent to you by speed post.
